System Maintenance
Users may experience intermittent outages from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10. The Alberta Student Aid system will also be unavailable from 8:20 a.m. to noon on Thursday, December 12.
The majority of applications are processed within 30 days.
Some applications require a manual review to determine eligibility for student aid. Reviews may be initiated due to funding restrictions, academic progress, information discrepancies, or other eligibility criteria.
At times, we may ask students for missing information or verification documents. We encourage students to respond to information requests as quickly as possible.
Reviews are processed in the order they are received. If you’ve already applied, please do not close your application and reapply. This will move your application to the back of the queue and delay the processing time.
Applications requiring a manual review may take up to 45 days to process. During peak periods, application reviews may exceed 45 days. Currently, about 3% of all submissions are exceeding the 45-day timeline.
We encourage students to apply 60 days in advance of their study start date.
