Notice: Applications for the 2026-27 school year cannot be assessed until all required income information is received. Please ensure you complete the income verification steps and for your spouse/partner (if applicable), as soon as possible and well in advance of the start of your 2026-27 study period. |
Follow these steps to successfully verify your income information:
- You will receive an email notification to check your Alberta Student Aid account.
- On the Welcome page, select the Income Verification Portal. Read the summary of required actions and select Next Steps. You will be asked to accept a sharing acknowledgement agreement with Alberta Student Aid to determine your full-time funding award.
- Select Click Here and follow the prompts to enter your personal financial information. You will be asked to confirm Line 15000 of last year’s income tax return or expected total income for this year.
- Provide consent for Alberta Student Aid to share your income information with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
And you’re done! You have successfully verified your income. You can return the Income Verification Welcome Page at any time to review the guided steps for income verification.
Spouse/Partner Income Verification
If applicable, your spouse/partner must provide their income information and consent for the CRA to share their income information with Alberta Student Aid.
- Students who are married or common-law must provide a letter to their family members with instructions on how to consent to share family income information with Alberta Student Aid before the applicant’s funding can be issued.
- These students will receive a letter in their secure Alberta Student Aid Inbox with instructions for the family member(s).
Alberta.ca Account
The family member must have a personal Alberta.ca Account to access the Income Verification Portal. If they already have a personal Alberta.ca Account, then they're all set. If not, have them go to Alberta.ca Account and follow the instructions to create an account.
Important Information
If the income information cannot be verified for yourself—and if applicable for your spouse/partner—Alberta Student Aid cannot process your application for the 2026-27 school year.
