Alberta Student Aid System
The Alberta Student Aid system is used to issue Alberta Student Aid funding to students. You can view students' application and funding details including loan disbursements, statuses and correspondence.
Access to the Student Aid system is granted by signing an Access to Learner Information Agreement (ALIA), a legal agreement with Alberta Student Aid, regarding the use and protection of student information.
To gain access, your school must also:
- be located in Canada, and
- be designated by Alberta Student Aid.
If you do not have access to the Alberta Student Aid System, you must complete the ALIA.
Access to Learner Information Agreement (ALIA)
The ALIA provides consent for conditions intended to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of student records and inform of any changes in staff who have access to the Alberta Student Aid system.
A person with signing authority (e.g., president, registrar, owner, or a delegate) at the school must first sign and submit an ALIA to Alberta Student Aid. Once it has been received, the designated staff at your school will be provided instructions on how to sign up for an individual Alberta Education Account profile, which is a secure portal to the Alberta Student Aid System.
For information or assistance on completing the ALIA, email:
Features of the Alberta Student Aid System
Inquiry
Allows you to review your students' funding application to assist them in understanding:
- how their eligibility was calculated,
- correspondence sent to them,
- their application status, and
- funding disbursements.
Confirmation of Registration (COR)
An online confirmation system for student registration. Funding will not be sent to students until Alberta Student Aid receives confirmation of student registration from the school.
Confirmation of Registration allows you to:
- confirm full-time registration and verify programs/study periods of students attending your school
- request tuition remittance directly to the school
- report changes to registrations (i.e. withdrawals, drop to part-time status)
Alberta Student Aid requires school officials to accurately maintain information in the COR system regarding their students' program registration status and corresponding tuition remittance as outlined in the COR User Guide. Failure to comply may result in Alberta Student Aid cancelling the ALIA and the school's access to the COR system. |
Access for Staff
Once the ALIA agreement is in place, the person with signing authority or a designate at your school (i.e. person who originally signed the ALIA) must complete and submit an Alberta Student Aid System Access Form. This form provides Alberta Student Aid the names and contact information of designated staff at the school who either require access and/or should have their access removed.
Download and complete the form:
- Save the PDF form to your computer.
- Open the form with Adobe Reader. Fill it in and save it.
Submit an access form to Alberta Student Aid:
Have your Authorized Officer sign it, scan as a PDF document and email the form:
Your request will be reviewed, and designated staff at your institution will be contacted by Alberta Student Aid with instructions on how to create an individual Alberta Education Account profile, which will give them access to the secure portal to the Alberta Student Aid System.
Staff Employed at Multiple Campuses or Institution Sites
You must create a separate profile and submit a new access form for each campus location or institution site where you provide financial assistance to students.
