Alberta Junior Athletic Award

The Government of Alberta is supporting post-secondary students by improving its athletic scholarship and award programs. The new Alberta Junior Athletic Award recognizes junior sport athletes and provides incentive for athletes to continue with their post-secondary education. The Alberta Junior Athletic Award, is a consolidation of the:

  1. Charles S. Noble Junior Football Scholarship
  2. Charles S. Noble Junior Hockey Scholarship
  3. Prairie Baseball Academy Scholarship

The new award will be delivered through a single application. Overall funding for the award is not reduced by the consolidation. Students who receive the Alberta Junior Athletic Award will receive similar amounts compared to the previous programs.

The consolidation, supported by stakeholders after consultations with donor partners and athletic clubs, makes athletic awards more accessible for students studying in Alberta. It also reduces red tape and administrative burden for schools and government by amalgamating a suite of complex awards into a streamlined program.
