Access for Schools

Access to the Student Aid system is optional. To gain access your school must:

  • be located in Canada,
  • be designated by Alberta Student Aid, and
  • sign an Access to Learner Information Agreement (ALIA), a legal agreement with Alberta Student Aid, regarding the use and protection of student information.

Access to Learner Information Agreement (ALIA) for New Schools

By signing the ALIA, your school consents to conditions intended to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of student records, and to inform us of any changes in staff who have access to the Alberta Student Aid system.

A person with signing authority (e.g. president, registrar, owner, or a delegate) at your school must first sign and submit an Access to Learner Information Agreement (ALIA) to Alberta Student Aid. Once it has been received, your school and designated staff will be able to setup their accounts with Alberta Education.

For more information or for assistance with completing the Access to Learner Information Agreement (ALIA), email:

Once the ALIA agreement is completed, the person with signing authority at your school must complete and submit a Student Aid system access form. This form provides Alberta Student Aid the names and contact information of designated staff at the school who either require access and/or should have access removed.
