The Government of Alberta through the Alberta Heritage Scholarship Fund offers a First Period Apprentice Award to encourage registered apprentices with Apprenticeship and Industry Training to complete their first period of technical training toward receiving a trade certificate.
- $750 Award
To be considered for the First Period Apprentice Award, you must be:
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or have protected person status under
Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Actively registered as an Alberta Apprentice
- Registered to attend first period technical training at an approved technical training provider in Alberta on or after August 1, 2015
Note: Apprentices may only receive this award once.
Academic achievement is not a requirement for this award.
How to Apply for the Award:
First year apprentices registered to take first period technical training can apply for this award by logging in to their MyTradesecrets accounts and following the instructions. You can apply for this award up to and including your last day in class.
