Jason Lang Scholarship
Established in the memory of Jason Lang, a 17-year-old high school student who was killed in a school shooting.
To reward the outstanding academic achievements of Alberta post-secondary students continuing full-time in undergraduate programs.
Recipients are nominated by the Student Awards Office at participating Alberta post-secondary schools.
Nominees must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada and Alberta residents.
Nominees must be enrolled full-time in undergraduate or professional programs, such as Law, Medicine, Pharmacy or Dentistry at eligible Alberta public post-secondary schools (includes publicly-funded colleges, technical institutes, universities and private colleges accredited to grant degrees). A student may only receive a lifetime maximum of three Jason Lang Scholarships.

Each recipient is nominated on the basis of achieving a minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale in the previous academic year while maintaining enrollment in at least 80 per cent of a full course load. Nominees must also be progressing in their post-secondary programs and continuing their full-time post-secondary studies at eligible Alberta schools to receive a Jason Lang Scholarship.
Recipients are nominated by the Student Awards Office at participating Alberta schools where they have obtained their qualifying grades. For information on the nomination process and eligibility, students should contact the Student Awards Offices at their schools.
