Scholarships and awards in this listing are offered by the Government of Alberta and administered by Student Aid Alberta.

WorldSkills Legacy Scholarships

Sponsored by WorldSkills Calgary 2009 and managed through the Alberta Heritage Scholarship Fund.


Two awards at $500 each; one award at $9,000 over a period of two years

Eligibility Criteria:

Recipients must be Alberta residents and qualify through Skills Canada Alberta programs:

  • Alberta students participating in the Provincial Skills Canada Competition and joining Team Alberta
    will receive a $500 scholarship.


Team Alberta members earning a gold medal at the Skills Canada National Competition
    will earn an additional $500 scholarship.


Team Alberta participants becoming part of Team Canada can receive an additional $9,000 over a period of two years to support their training for a WorldSkills Competition.

The scholarships are available to eligible Team Alberta competitors in 2010 and subsequent years.

Skills Canada Alberta will contact eligible recipients.

Application Process:

To receive the scholarships students must return an application form that will be provided to them once they accept a position on Team Alberta.
