Level 2: Request for Executive Review

A Level 2: Executive Review applies when a Level 1: Request for Reconsideration has been completed and you are not satisfied with the outcome and you believe your circumstances are unique and warrant special consideration.

If you request a Level 2: Executive Review without previously completing a Level 1: Request for Reconsideration, Alberta Student Aid may treat it as a Level 1: Request for Reconsideration. You will be notified of this in writing in the decision letter.

Submitting a Level 2: Request for Executive Review does not guarantee extra funding will be approved.

If your Student Award Letter indicates that you have received the maximum amount of loans, review the loan limits policy here:

Request for Review decisions are based on policy and legislation. If you believe your circumstances are unique and warrant special consideration, include an explanation and supporting documentation in your request. The loan limits policy explains situations that may result in higher loan limits.

To submit a Level 2: Request for Executive Review:

3. Select your reason for submitting a request. As you complete the online form, the system will tell you if you need to submit additional documentation to support your request.

A Level 2: Request for Executive Review must be received by Alberta Student Aid within 90 days from the date you receive the Level 1: Request for Reconsideration decision. If additional information is required, processing time will be 90 days from the date that all required information was received by Student Aid.
